Flush It!

You might be on a diet and battling to lose weight. This could be due to your system not working on all cylinders because of your digestive system. This recipe is a type of soup, but you can drink it, hot or cold. It will last up to six days in your fridge, and can be frozen as well. Before starting on any diet start of with this soup to flush your system of toxins. To get better results you can drink it a few times a day over several days as a snack between meals.


4 L water

3 carrots (peeled and roughly chopped)

4 celery stalks (roughly chopped)

2 cups baby spinach

1 red onion

2 sweet potatoes (peeled and chopped)

3 cm ginger (peeled and finely grated)

A few sprigs of rosemary (cleaned and chopped)

1 tsp turmeric

2 cups turnips (peeled and chopped)

1 cup exotic mushrooms

1 cup daikon radish (peeled and chopped)

½ cup fresh coriander

4 garlic cloves

Salt to taste.

Simmer for one and a half hour. Allow to cool. Blend until smooth in blender.
